HAMPTON INN DEL MAR

FRANKLIN CROFT Hospitality acquired the 129-room Hampton Inn Del Mar through the company’s affiliate, St. Thomas Apartments LLC and its venture partner B & B St. Thomas LLC. The property was purchased from Arizona based HBF Holdings LLC in September of 2003. FRANKLIN CROFT affiliate, Del Mar Hotel, LLC serves as the operator.

The Hampton Inn is located on El Camino Real near the junction of SR 56 and I-5 in an affluent suburb east of Del Mar. The four-story, select-service hotel sits on 1.36 acres with 130 parking spaces of which 71 are in an underground parking structure. The hotel was designed and constructed to exceed the Hampton Inn brand standards including such features as the distinctive cupola and natural stone vanities in the bathrooms.

This acquisition marked the company’s first focused service asset in California. Since taking over operations the company has improved RevPAR by 50%. The Company is now actively pursuing additional transactions in prime California coastal locations.
